On July 6, 2024, the Lithuanian National Guard, in collaboration with the Lithuanian diaspora in Chicago, celebrated King Mindaugas’ coronation by singing the Lithuanian national anthem, Tautiška Giesmė. The event took place at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Marquette Park, IL. The church’s mural depicting King Mindaugas’ baptism and coronation was a poignant backdrop.

On July 14, 2024, the LNG and the Lithuanian community gathered at the monument in Marquette Park to commemorate the 91st anniversary of the historic transatlantic flight by pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas.
