Švyturys – šviesos karys

Explaining the Camp Slogan: “Beacon Bright, Warrior Light”

The slogan of Švyturys Camp 2024, “Švyturys – šviesos karys,” translates to “Beacon Bright, Warrior Light” in English. This powerful slogan is designed to inspire and empower the youth attending the camp.

A beacon is a symbol of guidance and hope. Just like a lighthouse guides ships safely to shore, the camp aims to guide young Lithuanian Americans towards a deeper connection with their heritage. The light represents knowledge, culture, and identity, shining brightly for all to see.

The word warrior reflects strength, courage, and determination. At Švyturys Camp, campers are encouraged to be warriors in their own lives – strong, resilient, and proud of their Lithuanian roots. The slogan embodies the camp’s mission to empower the youth to embrace their heritage and carry it forward with pride and confidence.

By combining these elements, “Beacon Bright, Warrior Light” serves as a reminder to the campers that they are part of a larger community. It encourages them to be leaders and torchbearers of their culture, ensuring that the light of their Lithuanian heritage continues to shine brightly in the future. This slogan captures the spirit of the camp, fostering a sense of empowerment and pride among the young participants.
